Ashley National Park
What is a public space? What can we inhabit and what can we visit?
To understand the depths of this question, I open up my own mind as a national park to visit and inhabit. This park manifests in several concepts and ways to create a tunnel into creating a metaphysical space and metaphor for my thoughts.

Launching Concept
First Dissection of the Idea
This project started small with a small sign that was created to claim space for my own. A pun that was intended to be a quick laugh using my last name "Park", I painted a wooden sign with the phrase "Ashley National Park" and took photos of small areas that were to become my park.

Inhabiting the Mind
Public Participation Project
To further the idea of inhabiting my mind rather than a physical space, I translated posters into a way to take a souvenir of something so personal as the inner thoughts of a person. I wanted to see if people would go as far to find the person who would think thoughts that were written on small slabs of paper. These posters were plastered on intimate spaces that were easy to miss: bathroom stalls, sides of trash cans, and more. If you took enough of these sheets of paper, you could find a location that I may be at at the park hours listed.
